Holiday Shopping

As a master procrastinator, I’ve left myself with very little time to do Christmas shopping. No surprise, as I have been repeating this pattern annually for most of my adult life. Bad planners gonna bad plan, I guess. I’ve come to accept it, though, and only mildly beat myself up over it now. Besides, who has time to berate oneself when there are only three shopping days left before Christmas?!?

Speaking of holiday shopping…

You likely know Olivia Munn as an actress but, based on these photos of her from several years ago, we need to give her props for also being quite an adept holiday shopper. In addition, she’s also a crush of mine that’s been going relatively strong since I first watched her on the old G4 series Attack of the Show! from roughly 2006–2010. Look, I’m not proud that I watched that boneheaded show more than a few times for a couple years there, but with Olivia doing stuff like this, I really can’t be faulted.

And then she showed up on the NBC series Chuck, dressed like this:

Yeah. That pretty much cemented the crush. So, while this is likely her first appearance at the Starfire Lounge, Olivia Munn vaults directly into the VIP Club.

I’m veering far afield from Christmas shopping, though. The point here is that, while holiday shopping at a bookstore in Los Angeles, Olivia managed to lug an impressively massive stack of books while teetering around in stiletto heels. Her checkered minidress was a subtle yet seasonally festive look, which she topped off by sporting an absurdly sexy run in the upper thigh of her stockings. Don’t ask me why that’s sexy, it just is, and that’s a fact.

Obviously, I won’t look 1/1,000th as put-together as Olivia did while holiday shopping. After all, I’m not a celebrity and my gift buying won’t be staged and shot by a professional photographer, plus I can’t compete with Olivia’s legs. That said, I will keep her shopping spirit alive by lugging all my gift purchases around without a cart, because I always forget to grab a cart. By the time I realize, it’s too late to go back because I just want to get the hell out of there because it’s always a madhouse everywhere at Christmas time. Ugh.

Deep breath. Oh Olivia, send me strength.
