Serleena Returns

One year ago today, I posted an ode to the Victoria’s Secret-inspired, voraciously hungry alien Serleena, played by Lara Flynn Boyle in 2002’s Men in Black II. It was just another entry in the Bad Girls We Love series which, somehow, against great odds, managed to snowball into the second most popular post here at the Starfire Lounge. Not only that, but it’s been steadily gaining on the number one post for most of the last year. Both of these posts—Serleena/LFB and The Greatest Sybil Danning Outfits of All Time—continue to amaze me, racking up clicks and page views, day after day. How people are finding them mystifies me, but I believe most folks land on these posts thanks to image searches.

Obviously, with all-interstellar cleavage like this, who wouldn’t want to see more?

Speaking of more, this anniversary post is basically the blogging version of a cash grab, a shameless attempt to juice up the stats. Here’s hoping it works!

Serleena’s dominance here over the last year is especially impressive, given she’s from a twenty-two year old movie that was a hit but hasn’t exactly developed a massive following in the years since. I’m not even much of a fan of the film, but I am a fan of Boyle’s scene stealing, scenery chewing performance as a planet destroyer on a quest for the Light of Zartha so she can destroy the planets Zartha and Earth.

As a newcomer to Earth, the creepy looking alien Serleena happens upon a Victoria’s Secret ad featuring—wait for it—Lara Flynn Boyle modeling a black bra and panties set. Inspired by the absolute smoke show that is Lara Flynn Boyle circa 2002, Serleena morphs (yeah, she can do that, and it’s cool) into a clone of the absolute smoke show that is Lara Flynn Boyle circa 2002. There Serleena stands, in her new LFB body, looking in black lingerie and heels, when a would-rapist attacks. Of course, he’s no match for a cosmic force such as Serleena, and soon enough she’s swallowed the sucker whole. It’s a glorious introduction.

In a way, I can completely see why that previous Serleena post is so popular. If Lara Flynn Boyle having a campy good time as a hungry AF space invading alien isn’t worthy of some consistent page views then I don’t know what is. That said, given the vagaries of the internet, I fully expect this Serleena post to do moderately well, while the old one keeps on blasting its way to the stratosphere. Either way, the Lounge is now your go-to source for space aliens morphing into crazy-sexy-hot Lara Flynn Boyle circa 2002.
