May Queen

In the British Isles and parts of the Commonwealth, “the May Queen” is a personification of the May Day holiday of May 1st, and of the rebirth and renewal of springtime and the coming growing season.

So, what does that have to do with the image above of a scorching hot woman in a slinky, form-fitting dress? Nothing, really. It’s May Day though, and I wanted an excuse to post more of the pfabulous Michelle Pfeiffer, who has dominated here at the Lounge this week, thanks to her birthday two days ago. Simply put, this is another example of me shamelessly shoehorning Michelle Pfeiffer into every possible post.

Speaking of shoehorning, that dress she slipped into for this 2000 French magazine photoshoot is almost like a body stocking. The then-42-year-old looks astonishingly beautiful in these photos. She looks resplendent in that colorful palette of mostly warm tones, and her oh-so-millennium-era bob cut is one of her sexiest hairstyles ever.

It really is Michelle’s world; we’re all just living in it.
