We recently lost one of the true pop culture icons, Ms. Anna Mae Bullock, better known to the world as Tina Turner. Her energetic, spirited performances onstage and onscreen will never be forgotten, though. Tina will forever be the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, the Acid Queen, your private dancer, and simply the best.

Here’s a pictorial tribute to the woman who once said, “My legacy is that I stayed on course… from the beginning to the end, because I believed in something inside of me.” Her belief in herself made us all believe in her, in the power of Tina. Many of the photos I’ve selected showcase Tina doing what she did best: performing for an audience like her life depended on it. No one ever brought it harder.
