Seemingly sung during springtime (“Though spring is here/To me it’s still September”), “September in the Rain” finds Julie waxing nostalgic for that time of year when, “To every word of love I heard you whisper/The raindrops seemed to play a sweet refrain.”
As always, the sweetest refrain is Julie’s lovely vocals on yet another wistfully romantic Calendar Girl song. Her September pinup finds Julie in the midst of a fly-fishing related mishap. Extricating that fishing hook from Julie’s proto-Daisy Duke shorts had to be tough but honest work for some lucky soul.
Now that we’re entering fall, the final season of the calendar year, you might be wondering if Julie starts to dress for cooler temperatures over the next few months’ pinups. Nope! She fully commits to the Calendar Girl cheesecake bit for twelve whole months! Stay tuned, my favorite month of the year is up next.
