Hot Shots of the Week: Party Line

Party Line (1988) is the heartwarming story of a demented brother-sister team who use a party line to lure unsuspecting victims to their death. For you kids asking, “What’s a party line,” well, look it up. I’m too tired to get into it here, but it was very much a thing back then, making this telephonic American slasher film powerfully relevant in 1988.

The movie is a blast. I really should do a Lost and Found post on it someday. For now, here’s the hot, stunning, minimalist poster (above)—one of my favorites of that era—followed by a hot shot of costar Greta Blackburn talking dirty on her comically large 1980s phone.

  1. I’m surprised they still had party lines in the 1980’s, thought they went out of fashion in the 70’s. What’s extra creepy is that something like that could’ve actually happened, albeit probably not so much by a twisted brother-sister tag team. Anyone familiar with the Craigslist Killer will find this eerily relevant.
