Hot Shots of the Week: Glam Metal Goddess Lita Ford

After starting out as the guitarist for 1970s punk rock girl group The Runaways, Lita Ford embarked on a successful glam metal career. She went hard with the hair metal look—from black lace bustiers to high-rise thongs, smooth and silky pantyhose to big, blonde 1980s hair, Lita’s lewk was badass metal babe to the bone.

During those years, either Lita or her photographers had a soft spot for a pose she struck repeatedly: bending over her axe to show off her curvaceous, drool-worthy figure. No one bends over that awkwardly unless they have a great ass, and Lita Ford most definitely does.

After all, she didn’t name her fifth studio album Dangerous Curves for nothin’, kids.

  1. Lita Ford certainly did make Metal glamorous with her looks, and she has a good singing voice too. It surprised me greatly the rocky relationships she had with Joan Jett and Cherie Currie during their days as The Runaways, but that they got it all settled out in the end is fabulous.
