Marilyn Monday

This Monday, let’s travel back in time to Madison Square Garden in New York City, 1955, when Marilyn Monroe stole the show at a charity event for Arthritis and Rheumatism, hosted by the Ringling Bros. Circus. Getting in the circus spirit, Marilyn straddled an enormous elephant and waved at the adoring crowd. She was game for anything, always a smile on her face and a glint in her eye.

Riding high, like a true queen.

She was always the most beautiful creature in the room as well, and that night was no exception. Here’s a plethora of pics from that evening to prove it. I believe some of these shots are from another arthritis charity event from the same year, but don’t quote me on that. Anyways, who cares? Just enjoy the view.

A goddess once walked this earth.
Milton Berle never stopped grinning again after this moment.
That lucky sunuvabitch.
Marilyn: To infinity and beyond!
Big Top Marilyn and friends.
Glamour and grace.
A few wardrobe adjustments and she’s good to go.
Simply the best.
