I recently watched one of my top comfort movies again, Michelle Pfeiffer’s marvelous 1988 romantic crime comedy Married to the Mob. I long ago lost track of how many times I’ve watched it, but I watch it so frequently because it brings me complete joy. A friend of mine coined the term “find your joy” on his podcast years ago, and in Married to the Mob I most definitely find my joy every time I watch.
I’d like to write more about it soon—and about how dreamy Michelle and costar Matthew Modine are together—but for now, and because I’m short on time, let’s just swoon over Michelle as the adorable Angela de Marco. Which of Angela’s hairstyles is your favorite? I love the LawnGuyland* hair at the start of the film, but her makeover ‘do is so damn cute it hurts. I’ll take Angela any way she wants to wear her hair, because, duh, she’s Michelle Freaking Pfeiffer.
*It’s all one word if you’re from Long Island, trust me.
