One of my favorite gritty pimps-and-whores exploitation movies from the heyday of gritty pimps-and-whores exploitation movies would have to be Uncaged (1991), also known as Angel in Red. The Roger Corman-produced thriller is actually a pretty faithful remake of an earlier Corman production that I’ve waxed on about here before, Streetwalkin’ (1984). While the original is a better movie, the “remake” is still wildly entertaining and well worth your time if you love sleazy street stories from the 1980s and 1990s. And, Angel in Red (the title I prefer, even though Uncaged works better for this blog post) has something going for it that Streetwalkin’ doesn’t, namely the total smokeshow-sexbomb-megababe Pamela D’Pella, as one of the film’s prostitute protagonists.
An actress, singer, dancer, photographer, the poly-hyphenate D’Pella has alway left a big impression on me in Angel in Red. Especially when she wears this jaw-dropping lime green, body hugging minidress that perfectly shows off her positively banging body. We’re talking Exploitation Hall of Fame levels of hotness here, folks.
Have I mentioned her lingerie scene yet? Because I really should. Or, better yet, how about you just gawk at her in said lingerie during a hair, makeup, and costume check, hmm?
