I can’t say for certain, but I have to believe that no one has played as many strippers on film as cult queen Maria Ford has. Just off the top of my head, I think she’s played a stripper/former stripper/hot babe forced to strip at least a dozen times, maybe more. She even played a stripper on an episode of The Drew Carey Show! If you needed an actress to do gratuitous strip scenes back in the 1990s and early 2000s, then the babelicious Maria Ford was the actress you hired. Roger Corman certainly knew this, as many of Maria’s most famous stripping roles are in Corman productions, like Stripped to Kill II: Live Girls, The Showgirl Murders, and Stripteaser, among others.
Based on the copious amounts of sensual stripping that Maria has done onscreen, she’s a seriously underrated cult movie queen. She starred in a bunch of B-movie gems and was always hot as hell in them—and sometimes she even gave a great performance, too (See: Stripped to Kill II for one such example).
For fans of Maria’s career, or those curious to learn about her, this article from 2024 is a great resource. The best way to appreciate Maria’s oeuvre, of course, is to dive right in and witness it for yourself.
