Calendar Girl: Julie London for November

The branches of the trees are bare.
The smell of burning leaves is in the air.
November twilight steals across my heart.

With my Halloween hangover and Julie London’s breathy singing of “November Twilight,” I got so distracted I almost missed the “smell of burning leaves” line—stop singing, and call the fire department, Julie!

Look, the only smoking hot item we need this November is Julie herself. The eternal Thanksgiving question—legs or breasts?—is nearly impossible to answer when it comes to the sultry Ms. London, but she clearly had g-g-g-gorgeous gams. The internet says she stood only 5’3” tall, but based on these Calendar Girl images I’d swear those legs are six feet long if they’re an inch. Perspective and whatnot at play, I’m sure, but suffice it to say, like Michelle Pfeiffer, Julie London had legs, and she knew how to use them.

This November pinup featuring Julie done up in the sexiest pilgrim outfit we’ve ever seen guaranteed she was the most popular Plymouth, MA resident at the dinner table during the first Thanksgiving. I know, things have devolved and I’m writing silly, unbecoming odes to Julie’s statuesque beauty while barely mentioning the song. Look, it’s been a Herculean task to do these Calendar Girl posts every month this year and not gush about her scorching hot sex appeal—and don’t forget, a large part of that appeal comes from her seductive singing voice. So, I’ve clearly succumbed to my baser instincts with these posts for eleven months now, but it’s all in fun, especially because I genuinely love Julie London, the singer—the smoking hot singer, I mean.

Obviously, November’s post means we’re down to one month left in the Calendar Girl 2023 series. But wait! There’s more! (I hope you read that in a game show host’s voice.) Calendar Girl has a bonus track, “Thirteenth Month,” meaning we’ll get one more smooth as silk vocal performance from Julie London. I haven’t decided, but I’m pretty sure I’ll run that thirteenth post sometime later in December. Or maybe in early January. I don’t know yet. Stay tuned!
