Michelle Monday

Blogging is a marathon, not a sprint, so pacing yourself is always advised. With that in mind, I’ve tried to come up with some semi-regular posts over the last few years that could serve as ongoing posting prompts for when I’m struggling to write—after all, it’s all about the content, baby!

Here’s the first post in what will be another semi-regular series. Let’s call it “Michelle Monday”—although it likely won’t run every single week, and some weeks it’ll be “Marilyn Monday, ”or “Morgan Monday,” or even “Margot Monday” or “Monica Monday,” depending on my mood (it’s eerie how many of my celebrity crushes begin with the letter M). No matter the headliner though, these posts will be sure to get your work week off to a positive start. Mondays often suck, but making it a Michelle Monday improves things a thousandfold.

Stop me if you’ve heard this here before but Michelle Pfeiffer is my favorite actor, her movies mean the world to me, and this site is named after a club mentioned in her movie The Fabulous Baker Boys. So it’s only fitting I begin with a little tribute to Michelle as Susie Diamond, one of her best and most memorable characters. I’ve written about Susie and the Baker Boys many, many times, so follow the appropriate tags below to check out those posts. For now, just luxuriate in some beautiful shots of Michelle as the fabulous Susie.

Michelle is always beautiful, always glamorous, and always sexy, but rarely has she ever looked quite as beautifully glamorous and stunningly sexy as she does in The Fabulous Baker Boys. don’t even get me started on the iconic red dress. She made movie magic in that dress, during two of the sexiest scenes of all time. First, performing “Makin’ Whoopee” while writhing about on top of a piano, and then immediately following when Jack Baker (Jeff Bridges) unzips that sexy red dress and he and Susie get to makin’ real whoopee.
