Late Night Memories: Rhonda at the Golden Apple

On September 17, 1993, at the height of her late night goddess fame, Rhonda Shear made an in-store appearance at the famed West Hollywood comic book shop, the Golden Apple. She was there promoting USA Up All Night and signing copies of the latest issue of Playboy, which featured an astonishingly sexy photo spread of our favorite late night date. We’ve already delved into that pictorial before, so you’ll want to head over here and check that out.

Rhonda’s appearance at the Golden Apple was just as sexy. Our favorite late night date curled up on the counter and posed for a plethora of pulchritudinous pictures. Suffice it to say, the shop employees and customers were witness to something not often seen inside a comic book shop: a drop dead gorgeous sexbomb, seductively lounging across the countertop. I’ve spent a good deal of time in comic books shops over the years and would’ve given my right arm to see such a sight! Have mercy, Rhonda.

Not only was Rhonda the late night goddess at the time, she was also the pantyhose goddess. She knew this, thanks to the copious amounts of salivating fan mail Up All Night received about how gorgeous Rhonda looked in nylons, so she and the show runners leaned into Rhonda’s scorching hot nylon goddess appeal. Hose, nylons, tights, stockings—they were in style at the time, of course, but no one wore them better than Rhonda at her peak.

The Golden Apple photos offer ample evidence of Rhonda’s leg show supremacy in the early nineties. They also capture Rhonda clearly having some fun flashing some tantalizingly naughty peekaboo shots up her skirt. The woman was a straight-up sex assassin. She came for our libidos and she took no prisoners along the way. When it came to weaponizing sex appeal, no one did it better than Rhonda.

  1. Fantastic work as always Michael 🙂 BTW, did you hear the recent passing of well-respected filmmaker David Lynch? I have been sad ever since I read the news earlier 😦 Like myself, I understand that you were a huge fan of his films too. I will be placing a blog entry at midnight on my site. Thoughts?

    1. Yes, I heard the news and it’s just crushing. He was so critical to not only my love of movies but also the way I see the world. He will be sorely missed.
