Bombshells: Silvana Pampanini

Before Sophia Loren or Gina Lollobrigida, there was Italian sex symbol Silvana Pampanini. The curvaceous, green-eyed, and long-legged beauty was born in Rome and, like many Italian goddesses, had a fiery personality that only enhanced her appeal. This excellent resource on all things Italy details Silvana’s ferociousness, but here’s a particularly choice quote that makes us love her even more:

“After the Miss Italy contest that shot her to fame, she gave a radio interview alongside her joint-winner that had to be curtailed when the two began to quarrel and pull each other’s hair. Years later, at the Venice Lido Film Festival, she physically attacked a journalist who had been unkind to her in a magazine article.”

You have to love those fiery Italian babes!

Although a talented opera singer, Pampanini reportedly pursued a career in film because it required less training than opera. Similarly, after being courted by Hollywood, the legtastic brunette chose to continue making movies in Europe because she couldn’t be bothered to learn English. That’s the sort of laziness we can relate to. Good grief, the more we learn the more we love Pampanini.

Shamelessly promoted onscreen as little more than sex on two legs, Pampanini leaned into it because, well, just look at her! Here are some scorching hot images of the spitfire diva with a body that wouldn’t quit and a feisty, sexy personality. We’d let her physically assault us any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
