Happy Birthday Michelle Pfeiffer

Michelle Marie Pfeiffer was born on April 29, 1958. Today she turns 65 and continues to mess with our preconceptions of aging. She remains impossibly beautiful and absurdly talented. The woman might just be immortal.

Michelle fits the traits we often associate with the astrological sign Taurus. Stubborn, down-to-earth, cynical, compassionate, intelligent, tenacious, loyal, and creative are just a few and, not to toot my own horn, but I share them too. And you better believe part of why I love Michelle and her work so much is because I have that Taurus connection—I see all the things in her performances that feel like home to me. Certainly she breaks outside of the mold in some of her roles, but the way she’s handled her career and the way she’s managed her life is very relatable to most Tauruses, or at least it definitely is for me.

Happy 65th to the woman who inspired this blog, and whose movies mean the world to me. Based on how fabulous she was in this year’s blockbuster Marvel movie Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania—she steals the film, no question—we can expect nothing less than more greatness to come from Michelle! She doesn’t slow down. Like a fine wine, she just gets better with age.
