Michelle Monday

Michelle, going full-on bombshell for the October 1991 issue of Vogue.

Did someone say “bombshell”?

The great Herb Ritts took these sexy shots. Michelle, in her white negligee and platinum blonde bob, is giving us her very best Marilyn vibes. Wonder if she’d share that scotch with us? Can’t hurt to ask.

The following year, Michelle would appear on movie screens in a similarly platinum bombshell look, as the Kennedy-obsessed, southern belle Lurene Hallett, in the 1960s period piece Love Field (1992), a role that earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. While I believe Michelle deserved a nomination that year, it should have been for her jaw dropping performance as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in Batman Returns (1992). Still, she’s quite good in Love Field. Many years ago, I bought this DVD collection, even though I already owned all the films in it (multiple times over, for several of them). That striking cover photo—a promotional shot for Love Field of a smoldering Michelle fixing her gaze upon us from inside her car—was simply impossible to resist. She was practically beckoning for me to take her home, and I always do what Michelle tells me to do.
