A while ago I sort of retired the “Michelle Monday” posts because, well, every day is Michelle Pfeiffer’s day here at the Starfire Lounge. Even if she doesn’t show up in a post that day, her presence is always felt. Heck, this entire blog is built on my love for her movies, with special inspiration drawn from her iconic performance as the inimitable Susie Diamond in The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989).

So, while every day is Michelle’s day, I’m bringing back Michelle Monday this week just for fun, and to show off the absolutely stunning photo above. I’ve used it on the “About” page here since I launched the sight almost six years ago, but have never been able to track down the exact date or the photographer. It looks like late 1980s to me, but that’s just my best guess based on obsessively studying her various eras for four decades now. What I do know for a certified fact is that Michelle, with those piercing eyes, parted lips, and perfectly tousled hair, positively mesmerizing here. She’s just outrageously gorgeous. It’s one of my favorite photos of La Pfeiffer, which is why I’m sharing it here today to bring everybody a little joy on a Monday.
Pfabulous pfotograph my pfriend, it’s one of my pfavourites too. Looking through my Pfeiffer pfiles I believe Chelle was pfotographed here by Jean Pagliuso, although I’m not sure when. Nat at the old Film Experience Blog once posted that it was taken in 1990, when The Russia House was coming out. Other sources claim it was 1985 around the time Michelle made Sweet Liberty, which looks more likely to me. Whatever the date this moment captured is classic Pfeiffer.

I tend to lean towards Sweet Liberty as well for this photo, my pfriend, but either way she’s just so astonishingly beautiful.
